{"id":1935,"date":"2015-07-14T09:33:00","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T00:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/2015\/07\/14\/what-are-the-reality-behind-intensifying-black-arbeit-jobs\/?lang=ja"},"modified":"2015-07-14T09:33:00","modified_gmt":"2015-07-14T00:33:00","slug":"what-are-the-reality-behind-intensifying-black-arbeit-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/2015\/07\/14\/what-are-the-reality-behind-intensifying-black-arbeit-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"What are the Reality Behind Intensifying Black Arbeit jobs?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>\u25c6What is a \u201cBlack Arbeit\u201d?<\/h3>\n<p>The problem of \u201cBlack Arbeit,\u201d a term referring to jobs in which part-time working students are forced into working beyond their capacity and are negatively affected in their school lives, is growing serious.<br \/>\nLast year, the \u201cAnti-Black Arbeit Job Project\u201d asked college students who had experienced part-time jobs to answer surveys, and published the facts that \u201cAround 30% of students work more than 20 hours a week,\u201d \u201c1 in 4 students have been forced to work shifts based on the convenience of the company,\u201d and \u201caround 70% have experienced unfair treatment.\u201d<br \/>\nOther problems that came up include \u201cbeing forced to buy products to meet a sales quota\u201d and \u201cbullying at work and sexual harassment by superiors,\u201d and there are possibilities that some companies are conducting illegal acts.<\/p>\n<h3>\u25c6Why are students unable to quit their jobs?<\/h3>\n<p>So why do these problems occur?<br \/>\nOne reason is that the students have a hard time getting through school without such jobs because of rising school fees, decreased allowances from parents, and lack of financial aid.<br \/>\nMore and more companies are taking advantage of these students\u2019 economic situations and forcing them to take on as much responsibilities as full-time employees or to meet quotas.<br \/>\nIn addition, some purposely use the students\u2019 diligence and assign them tasks with heavy responsibilities, or create close relationships with them so that the students are dependent on work relationships rather than at school.<\/p>\n<h3>\u25c6What are recent trends?<\/h3>\n<p>In April, the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare started its \u201cMake Sure Your Part-Time Job\u2019s Working Conditions are Lawful!\u201d campaign, which notifies students of labor laws to help them avoid trouble at work.<br \/>\nThe \u201cBlack Arbeit Job Union,\u201d which offers help to students around labor problems, has called on students to talk to unions and lawyers whenever they are unfairly treated at work, and to gather proof by holding onto pay statements, taking notes, and recording conversations when they run into trouble.<br \/>\nRecently, it was made public that the Ministry has been pushing for the cram school industry to provide appropriate pay to workers, a rare move.
