{"id":2210,"date":"2017-04-01T02:00:45","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T17:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/?p=2210"},"modified":"2017-09-12T22:37:12","modified_gmt":"2017-09-12T13:37:12","slug":"recent-hourly-pay-rates-for-part-time-workers-show-continuing-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/2017\/04\/01\/recent-hourly-pay-rates-for-part-time-workers-show-continuing-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"Recent hourly pay rates for part-time workers show continuing growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2208 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise-300x255.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise-200x170.jpg 200w, https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise-300x255.jpg 300w, https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise-400x341.jpg 400w, https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise-600x511.jpg 600w, https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise-768x654.jpg 768w, https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pay-rise.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The average hourly rate offered over four prefectures within the Kanto region exceeds 1,000 yen<\/strong><br \/>\nThe average hourly pay rate for part time workers in December 2016 over four prefectures within the Kanto region (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama and Chiba) was at 1,020 yen, and for all of eastern Japan 1,000 yen (using AiDEM\u2019s aggregate results).<br \/>\nBy employment type, while \u2018Specialist &amp; Technical positions\u2019 were at 1,203 yen, a fall of 88 yen compared to the same month for the previous year, \u2018Office administration positions\u2019, \u2018Sales positions\u2019, \u2018Food service industry positions\u2019, \u2018Logistics, Telecommunications &amp; Security positions\u2019 , and \u2018Manufacturing, Construction &amp; Laboring positions\u2019 all increased by between 7 to 68 yen.<br \/>\nThe growth rate was highest for \u2018Logistics, Telecommunications &amp; Security positions\u2019, reaching 1,057 yen, an increase of 68 yen compared to the same month for the previous year, and \u2018Food service industry positions\u2019, reaching 924 yen, an increase of 12 yen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The growth in average hourly pay rates for western Japan exceeds that of eastern Japan<\/strong><br \/>\nThe average pay rate in three of the prefectures within the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo) was at 990 yen, an increase of 9 yen compared to the same month for the previous year, and for all of western Japan was at 969 yen, an increase of 16 yen, both exceeding the 2 yen increase seen in four of the Kanto prefectures, and the 8 yen fall seen in all of eastern Japan.<br \/>\nBy employment type, similar to eastern Japan, \u2018Specialist &amp; Technical positions\u2019 were at 1,267 yen, a fall of 27 yen compared to the same month for the previous year, while all other positions saw a rise of between 9 to 44 yen.<br \/>\nThe growth rate was highest for \u2018Sales positions\u2019, which reached 893 yen, an increase of 44 yen compared to the same month for the previous year, followed by \u2018Manufacturing, Construction &amp; Laboring positions\u2019, up 37 yen to 927 yen. Here the results differ from eastern Japan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall the trend is positive, but some areas see a fall of 100 yen or more<\/strong><br \/>\nLooking at the aggregate results, we can see the changes over 48 months from January 2012. Overall a positive trend continues, eastern Japan went from 970 yen to 1,000 yen, and western Japan went from 919 yen to 969 yen over that period.<br \/>\nHowever, for \u2018Specialist &amp; Technical positions\u2019, year-on-year figures for Tokyo\u2019s metropolitan wards and Kanagawa prefecture show a fall of 107 yen, and Kyoto prefecture a fall of 200 yen.
