Based on the results of the \u201cSurvey on Skill Development and Retention of Young Workers\u201d conducted by the Japan Institute for Labor Policy and Training (JILPT), we explore the \u201creasons why new graduates leave their first full-time employer\u201d and offer tips for labor management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trends in Reasons for Resignation<\/strong><br \/>\nThe survey was conducted for the first time in 2016, the second time in 2019, and the third time in 2025; the target age groups and questionnaire items did not strictly align across all three surveys.<br \/>\nHowever, looking at the responses from all employees who left their jobs in the second and third surveys, \u201cworking hours, holidays, and leave,\u201d \u201cwage conditions,\u201d \u201cdeterioration of health,\u201d and \u201cinterpersonal relationships\u201d ranked high for both men and women, suggesting that these are universal reasons for leaving.<br \/>\nFurthermore, among young people who left their jobs within one year of employment, the most prominent reasons for leaving for both men and women were \u201cdeterioration of health,\u201d \u201cinterpersonal relationships,\u201d and \u201closs of confidence,\u201d confirming that adapting to the workplace and job immediately after joining is crucial for retention.<br \/>\nOn the other hand, among those with over five years of service, the top reasons for leaving were \u201ccareer advancement,\u201d \u201cfinding a job that meets desired conditions,\u201d and \u201cmarriage, childbirth, or child-rearing,\u201d indicating an increase in positive reasons for leaving.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips for Labor Management<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the third survey, anticipating that young people\u2019s retention rates are significantly influenced by whether they have someone to consult with regarding work-related concerns, the survey analyzed their consultation patterns.<br \/>\nThe findings indicate that young people who left their jobs early tended to do so without seeking advice even when they had concerns, and it was also noted that those who left tended to have less workplace communication compared to those who remained.<br \/>\nThe study concludes that to prevent unwanted early resignations and promote workplace retention, it is important to establish \u201ca place where anyone can seek advice immediately after joining the company\u201d outside the workplace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Early resignation am  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3547,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[29],"tags":[265],"class_list":["post-3549","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tokyo-hr-headlines-ja","tag-retention-ja"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3549","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3549"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3549\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3550,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3549\/revisions\/3550"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/3547"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3549"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3549"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/labor-consultant.com\/ja\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3549"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
